Example: An experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Maharashtra on tomato in 1999 rabi season using a strip plot experiment to find out optimum fertilizer dose and to study economics for achieving maximum profit from Basmati Rice-Hybrid Tomato Cropping system. The experiment was conducted using a strip plot design with 3 levels of fertilizer to kharif paddy (A1=75% of recommended dose, A2=100% of recommended dose and A3=125% of recommended dose) in first strip (horizontal) and 3 levels of fertilizers to Rabi Hybrid Tomato (B1=75% of recommended dose, B2=100% of recommended dose and B3=125% of recommended dose) in the second strip (vertical). The experiment was conducted with 6 replications. The plot wise data of yield of tomato in kg per plot is:

MS-EXCEL DATA FILE

Perform the analysis of the data to test the significance of residual effects of fertilizer applied to Kharif paddy, direct effects of fertilizer applied to Rabi Hybrid Tomato and interaction between the residual effects of fertilizer applied to Kharif paddy and the direct effects of fertilizer applied to Rabi Hybrid Tomato.

Please note that the steps of analysis remain the same if the experiment is conducted with two factors applied in two different strips in the same season.
